On our trip to Savelugu, we had an audience with the paramount chief to learn more about the contemporary status of cotton farming in the region.

Through this meeting, we discovered how shifts in agricultural practices and market demands have impacted local spinners and weavers.

The chief’s perspective underlined the importance of cultural leadership and community support in sustaining intangible heritage like cotton spinning.
